Welcome to England’s largest festival of history and culture!

Every September, thousands of volunteers across England come together to organize events that celebrate our rich history and culture. This is a unique opportunity for everyone to explore hidden places and engage in new experiences, all of which are completely FREE. Nationally the events take place over 10 days – September 6-15

Among the highlights is our Bramcote Old Church Tower, a Grade II listed building located in the heart of the Bramcote Conservation area. This tower is all that remains of a 13th-century church and has recently undergone restoration, thanks to a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

You can explore the rich history of Bramcote Old Church Tower on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September, from 12:00 to 16:00 each day. In addition there are guided tours of the remains of Bramcote Hall, situated nearby, that will be conducted at 1 PM and 3 PM on both days. Refreshments will also be available during the opening hours, making it a perfect outing for families and history enthusiasts alike.

Heritage Open Days is not just about visiting historical sites; it’s a celebration of community and shared heritage. With over 5,000 events planned across the country, this festival invites everyone to discover the stories and traditions that shape our local and national identity.
