Touch-screen Audio Visual Unit installed within the Tower
In 2017, a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund enabled us to develop a touch-screen Audio Visual Display Unit, now installed in the Tower. This interactive resource presents a range of historical facts, stories, and images relating to Bramcote’s oldest building – our Tower and its site. We are offering visitors an accessible and engaging way to explore the site’s heritage.
Ordinarily, the presentation can only be viewed when the Tower is open to the public during events, and the equipment is switched on.
This webpage provides access to the same presentation content, allowing you to explore the material at your convenience — adding depth and context to a visit to the Tower in person.
Using the Presentation – Important!
Please note that the original version was designed for a touch-screen interface, where navigation is achieved by selecting on-screen buttons.
In this online version, clicking on the background (anywhere between the buttons) may cause the software to progress through its internal sequence. While this won’t damage the presentation, it may lead to information appearing out of order.
If this happens, we recommend using the **Back** button (represented by the Tower icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen) to return to the previous menu and continue navigating as intended.
While the presentation is designed for a large 27 inch display screen, this online version can still be enjoyed using a computer, laptop or tablet. You may find that you do not get the best ‘user experience’ when viewing using a mobile.
