The Tower Project : Started in 2004, the Friends of Bramcote Old Church Tower began the task of restoration of the 13th century, grade II listed church tower and the respectful regeneration of the closed and deconsecrated graveyard. In 2010 Bramcote Old Church Tower Trust was formed and in 2015 an application for Heritage Lottery Funding was made. In 2017 it was granted and the work is on going. The site is of historical importance locally and no longer associated with the church, but a public space for the community at the centre of the village of Bramcote.
Bramcote Old Church Tower now has a Facebook page. Get the very latest and up to date information by clicking on the Facebook icon. While there, click ‘Like’ to follow us.
Heritage Open Days
Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th September
Bramcote Old Church Tower
Moss Drive, Bramcote.
Every year in September, places across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history. Volunteers from BOCTT will be on site, with the Tower open, on Saturday and Sunday (14+15 Sept). This would be a good opportunity to speak to our volunteers and discover the interesting history of the original church in Bramcote, and surroundings, and why its Tower only remains.
Refreshments, children’s activities, volunteers to talk about the Tower, Richard Upton’s scaled model of Bramcote Hall and tours to see the remains of Bramcote Hall.
Saturday 10 August - Art Day at the Tower With the intermittent showers and the gusts of high wind one would have thought it was not the ideal conditions to do some painting! You would be right but that did not deter a hardy group of artists from coming to the Tower last Saturday and producing some lovely art work. Here are a few photos from that day. Thank you to all that ventured out into quite challenging conditions and helping make the event a success! Also thank you to Peter Hillier for his artistic input in running this workshop.
